A Visit To The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame In Cleveland

Exterior of Rock & Roll Hall of FameAfter a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you will definitely feel like a rockstar. Located on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, the museum is full of memorabilia of the biggest rock stars in the world.

The museum has a permanent collection and they also feature temporary exhibits. During the visit, you’ll watch videos, interact with kiosks, read materials, and of course, listen to plenty of music.

Here are some of the highlights during our visit to this awesome place:

The Hall of Fame

On the third floor, we found the Hall of Fame featuring items belonging to the most recently inducted class. There you will find Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe being honored. We also saw this year’s nominees.

Legends of Rock

Rock & Roll outfitsThis exhibit is very cool. It features top rock icons like The Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, Davie Bowie, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, and much more. You can find artists such as Diana Ross and The Supremes to The Allman Brothers Band and Blondie.

Also on display is the drum kit Ringo Starr played at their last official concert. This exhibit alone will make you want to spend the whole day there.

The British Invasion

British Invasion displayAt this exhibit, visitors will find iconic memorabilia and learn more of The Beatles’ history. For example, you’ll see the drumsticks used by Ringo Starr during the Beatles concert at Cleveland Public Auditorium on September 15, 1964. A suit was worn by George Harrison during The Beatles’ 1966 tour is also on display. A Hofner Senator electric guitar purchased by John Lennon during The Beatles’ time in Germany is featured in the exhibit. The mega-popular British band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. After spending time at this exhibit, you will go home and listen to The Beatles non-stop.

The Elvis Exhibit

The King of Rock needed a special place in the building and he got one for sure. The exhibit shows the impact of Elvis on American culture and rock and roll. Some of the memorabilia on display at the exhibit include a custom jukebox and a custom guitar. There’s also a huge screen with images and videos of the King.

Don’t leave without watching the video of the “Best of American Bandstand,” a trip through Dick Clark’s famous show and all the stars that visited him throughout the years. You’ll leave excited from all of the memories and music.

There is much more to discover at this wonderful home to music history. They also have a very nice store where you’ll be able to get some nice souvenirs for all the rock and roll lovers in your family.
